CESPYD welcomes Sharlys Jardim da Silva Santos, a PhD student from State University of Northern Rio de Janeiro (UENF) in Brazil. He is conducting his doctoral thesis project under the title “The Construction of Romani Identity through a Comparative Perspective: Statements and Dilemmas of the Romani People in Brazil and Spain” under the supervision of Dr. Mauro Macedo Campos (Brazil). From April until September 2024 he will be undertaking a six-month stay with our team, participating in Madres UP project, with Virginia Paloma as his supervisor. His stay is funded by the Sandwich Doctorate Program of Brazil’s Ministry of Education “Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel” (CAPES).
