CESPYD welcomes Emma Kleinjan from Wageningen University

CESPYD welcomes Emma Kleinjan, a student of the Master in International Development at Wageningen University (The Netherlands). Under the mentorship of Dr. Bram Jansen from Wageningen University and Dr. Virginia Paloma from the University of Seville, Emma will carry out three months of fieldwork for her thesis on how the smartphone shapes experiences of home and belonging among young African migrants in Seville. Through interviews and the use of photo-elicitation, the study aims to understand the emotional and symbolic value of the smartphone in the daily lives of migrants.
