We took part in the II Andalusian Forum on Cuidadanía (Care-Citizenship): Rethinking Rights in CareFrom the CESPYD research group, we joined the II Andalusian Forum on Cuidadanía on May 23rd and 24th —a space for dialogue and action promoted by the Aliadas por la Cuidadanía platform— where groups and individuals from different fields came together to reflect on the present and future of rights related to care in Andalusia. This forum was born as a continuation of the Andalusian Program on Care Rights, collectively developed in 2023, with the aim of guaranteeing the right to care and to be cared for from ecofeminist, intercultural, anti-racist, transnational, non-adult-centric, and inclusive perspectives. During the sessions, key topics were addressed, such as mental health and self-care, motherhoods, rural migrant women, the right to age with dignity, the right to housing, and neighborhood networks. Representing CESPYD were our colleagues Rocío Garrido and Virginia Paloma, along with PhD candidates Tatiana Duque and Blanca Vera, as well as researchers João Henrique Borges and Yenelis Díaz. Professor Rocío Garrido took part as a speaker on the first day, and both Rocío and Blanca played an active role in organizing the forum and drafting the manifesto “Rights to be able to care, rights to be able to care for ourselves.” You can learn more about the Andalusian Program on Care Rights and access the manifesto at the following link: https://participamostransformamos.org/programa-andaluz-de-derechos-en-los-cuidados/
