Promoting Psychosocial Well-being among Unaccompanied Migrant Youth: Assessing Needs, Strengths, and Resources in the Andalusian Context
Responsible: Virginia Paloma
Abstract:
The aim of this project is to explore the trajectories of vulnerability, resilience, and psychosocial well-being among unaccompanied migrant youth transitioning into adulthood in Andalusia. Specifically, the project focuses on young people who migrated independently as minors and who, following the end of institutional care, face psychosocial risk situations that have been widely documented. To address this objective, a participatory assessment will be conducted with at least 12 unaccompanied migrant young people. Through the analysis of their life development projects, as well as the challenges, strengths, and resources they identify in pursuing them, the project seeks to make their experiences visible and generate knowledge that can support the co-design of a community-based intervention program aimed at enhancing psychosocial well-being through a social mentoring format. The findings will also be disseminated through audiovisual and educational materials, scientific publications, and exchange and networking events aimed at strengthening alliances in defense of migrant youth rights.
Within this project, CESPYD collaborates with the Social Mentoring Coordinator (CMS) and the Human Activity Laboratory (LAH, HUM-327).
