Daniela Miranda, CESPYD Member, Receives the University of Seville’s Extraordinary Doctoral Award
The Centre for Community Research and Action (CESPYD) would like to congratulate our colleague Daniela Miranda, who has been awarded the University of Seville’s Extraordinary Doctoral Award, recognising the academic and scientific excellence of her doctoral research in the 2021–2022 award cycle.
The award recognises the quality of her doctoral thesis, entitled Developing A Multi-Level Advocacy Framework for Roma Health at the Local Level, supervised by Manuel García Ramírez and Yolanda Suárez-Balcázar.
Her research develops a multi-level advocacy framework aimed at promoting health justice for Roma communities, addressing structural inequalities and anti-Gypsyism from a community-based perspective. Drawing on participatory action research methodologies, the study proposes strengthening collaboration among different social stakeholders, building advocacy capacity, and promoting the co-production of knowledge in partnership with Roma communities themselves.
This research reflects CESPYD’s commitment to social justice, community participation, and the transformation of inequalities. It also highlights the contribution of community psychology research to advancing health equity and developing responses in collaboration with communities.
At CESPYD, we celebrate this recognition and congratulate Daniela on this important achievement in her research career.
Congratulations, Daniela!
