Event: “Promoting Active Compassion towards Migrant Realities through the Multisensory Method”
On Thursday, October 9, the event “Promoting Active Compassion towards Migrant Realities through the Multisensory Method” will take place at the Centro de Iniciativas Culturales of the University of Seville (CICUS) and at the Faculty of Psychology.
The event seeks to promote active compassion towards diverse migratory realities through the experience of a multisensory space, guided by a migrant person. Its goal is to encourage students to reflect, engage in dialogue, and connect with the emotional and human dimensions of migration, through different sensory stimuli such as images, sounds, scents, tastes, and textures. The detailed program of the event can be found here, and the abridged program here.
The activity is open to undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students of the University of Seville. A certificate of participation will be issued upon request. Participation requires prior registration by October 5 through this link (capacity limited to 30 people on a first-come, first-served basis).
This event is organized by the University of Seville’s Center for Community Research and Action (CESPYD), in partnership with INCOMA and in collaboration with CICUS, within the framework of the projects “Promoting Active Compassion of the University Community towards Migrant Realities through an Intervention based on the Multisensory Method,” funded by the University of Seville’s Office for Development Cooperation, and “Joint Stories: Journeys from Fear to Fair (JeS),” co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ program.
