Presentation Ceremony for the 1st and 2nd Development Cooperation Awards
The University of Seville presents the awards for the first and second editions of the Sustainable Human Development Awards, which recognise academic work, cooperation projects and initiatives committed to building a fairer and more sustainable society. At CESPYD, we are particularly pleased to celebrate these awards, which highlight the work and commitment of people connected to our community.
We would like to congratulate Fátima León Larios, a CESPYD member and Professor at the Faculty of Nursing, Physiotherapy and Podiatry, who received the Special Mention in the second edition of these awards.
Within CESPYD, Yenelis Díaz Medina and Cristina Peña Domínguez have also been recognised for their Master’s theses, both supervised by Virginia Paloma. Yenelis Díaz Medina received the award for her thesis entitled “Psychosocial and Community-Based Interventions to Promote a Positive Experience of Motherhood among Migrant, Refugee, Roma, and Ethnic and Racially Minoritised Women: A Systematic Review of Good Practices”. Cristina Peña Domínguez was recognised for her thesis, “Facilitators of Successful Entrepreneurship among Migrant Women in Southern Spain”.
Finally, we would like to congratulate Aurora Pavón Fernández, whose doctoral thesis is currently being co-supervised by Mercedes Cubero and Virginia Paloma. Aurora received the award for her undergraduate dissertation, entitled “Identity in Motion: Life Stories of First-Generation International Migrants”, as well as for their master’s thesis, titled “Empowerment of International Migrant Women in the Face of Intimate Partner Violence: A Systematic Review”, both supervised by Mercedes Cubero Pérez.
At CESPYD, we are particularly pleased to share and celebrate these achievements, which highlight the value of research committed to social justice, sustainability and the transformation of our communities. Congratulations to all of them on this well-deserved recognition and on their contributions, across different fields, to building a fairer and more sustainable society.
