Visit of Professor Dr. Daniela Marzana as a Part of the PhD Program in Psychology

Between October 22 and 24, we had the pleasure of welcoming Professor Dr. Daniela Marzana from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, as part of the PhD Program in Psychology at the University of Seville.

During her visit, she delivered the hybrid lecture “Participatory Methods as Tools for the Social Inclusion of Migrants”, held in the Graduate Lecture Hall of the Faculty of Psychology. In this session, she shared with master’s and doctoral students her extensive experience in action research, community development, and youth participation, particularly with migrant youth and NEETs. She delved into her work using the Photovoice methodology to promote social inclusion and amplify the active voices of young migrants. The attending students had the opportunity to engage in dialogue and reflection with the guest speaker on the transformative potential of participatory methods in research.

In addition, her visit offered CESPYD a valuable opportunity to share with her the progress of our ongoing projects, such as MadresUP, and to discuss possible synergies between our research lines. The exchange of ideas proved especially enriching, opening new perspectives on how participatory approaches can strengthen work with communities in contexts of vulnerability.
