Abstract:

The presence of migrants is generating new uncertainties among citizens, who sometimes react with feelings of insecurity, fear, and rejection. This project aims to increase the level of compassion toward migrant realities shown by the university community of the University of Seville (US). Compassion involves both identifying with the suffering of migrants and being motivated to act to alleviate it. To achieve this goal, the multisensory method is a tool that can induce compassion by immersing participants—through all their senses—into the life experiences of migrants. Through phases of co-design with key stakeholders, the implementation of multisensory spaces, the evaluation of their effectiveness, and the dissemination of this social innovation, the project aims to contribute to the development of a university community engaged with current migration challenges.

Implementation: 2025

Funding: Development Cooperation Office of the University of Seville. Call for Development Cooperation Activities and Projects 2024/2025.
