Recognition of YILÓ and its alliance with the ANDAROMI Project
YILÓ received significant recognition for its work supporting Roma girls in the Torreblanca and Polígono Sur neighborhoods. Antonio Huerta from the Junta de Andalucía’s Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families, and Equality, and Jose Luis Garcia Martin from the Ayuntamiento of Sevilla, honored the association’s contributions to empowering Roma girls by providing crucial financial support to further their efforts in local schools.
The event was attended by representatives from social services, high school girls, grassroots leaders, and the CESPYD research team, who came together to celebrate the progress made and reinforce the importance of collective efforts in promoting social inclusion and education for marginalized communities.
This recognition aligns with the goals of the ANDAROMI research project, which seeks to generate knowledge, promote inclusive policies, and engage Roma mothers and daughters. Through this alliance, the ANDAROMI research project and the Asociación YILÓ continue to collaborate to bridge the gap between grassroots initiatives and academic research, ensuring a stronger and more sustainable impact on marginalized communities.
As part of its ongoing efforts to share knowledge, the ANDAROMI research project is also pleased to announce the launch of its official TikTok account at TikTok @proyectoandaromi.
