On May 6 and 8, CESPYD participated alongside Yiló and the project Los tres mil cuidados (“The Three Thousand Cares”) in the Seville Science Fair, held at FIBES as part of the Faculty of Psychology’s stand.

Throughout both days, we brought into the public space a glimpse of the work we build every day in Polígono Sur: a participatory and community-based science initiative that invited people to collectively reflect on structural inequalities, anti-Gypsy discrimination, coping strategies, and the community resources present within the neighborhood.

Through different participatory activities — ranging from critical reflection dynamics to a photographic intervention about Polígono Sur — visitors were invited to imagine, discuss, and propose the resources and forms of care that every community deserves.

One of the central activities was Life Stories: narratives of Romani women from Polígono Sur, a proposal co-constructed with the women themselves through participatory action research processes. Each story reflected a dream, a barrier, and a form of resistance. Through engaging with these narratives, visitors were invited to write messages to the women protagonists, allowing their words to symbolically travel back to the neighborhood.

Together with the CESPYD team, the women participating in the project themselves facilitated the activities, taking part as co-researchers and as protagonists in the collective production of knowledge.
