Duration: Ongoing project.
Abstract: The PhV_SeGReV project: Mainstreaming sensitivity to gender and sexual violence at university through the practice of Photovoice (Ref. 2020 INDOV 00003), aims to create an internationally validated material to introduce sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) as part of the academic curriculum in universities and to do so through an innovative pedagogical methodology: photovoice. Our international (Catalonia, Spain, Australia, South Africa and Mexico) and interdisciplinary (education, psychology, anthropology, health, sociology, philology, communication, politics, etc.) team will work around 3 interconnected lines of work: (1) Coordination, (2) Research-Action and (3) Dissemination/Diffraction. The expertise and strong research background of the team members on the topic will allow the design of 2 sets of pedagogical videos in VSdG and photovoice. In addition, through the collaborative design of classroom dynamics and the learning obtained from the evaluation of previous experiences and the implementation of two COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) processes, we will produce a teaching guide in 3 languages (Catalan, Spanish and English). The COIL experiences will be carried out with students from different parts of the world who, through various sessions, will be able to share their perceptions and experiences of GBV and create new international feminist networks. Finally, the photo-narratives produced will be exhibited through an online exhibition that will multiply the sensitising effects of this experience. Similarly, the materials produced throughout the project will be published under Creative Commons licenses for wider dissemination and outreach.
