Virginia Paloma speaks at the European Economic and Social Committee

On 16 March, the final conference of the European ATHENA project “Entrepreneurship as a Path to Socio-Economic Inclusion of Migrant Women” took place at the European Economic and Social Committee. The objective of the event was to present and discuss with the key stakeholders and European politicians the results of the project, including policy recommendations and action plans that would need to be implemented to support and enhance entrepreneurship among migrant women. Virginia Paloma, the coordinator of the Center for Community Research and Action at the Universidad of Sevilla. and member of the advisory team of this European project, spoke within the panel of experts on “Political Priorities for the Integration of Entrepreneurial Migrant Women”, where they discussed what Actions must be taken by the European Union to facilitate the integration of migrant women entrepreneurs.

The ATHENA Project (Approaches To valorise the High ENtrepreneuriAl potential of migrant women to contribute to their social and economic integration), impulsado en España por la Cámara de Comercio de Sevilla e INCOMA, is a two-year project funded by the AMIF Program with the aim to contribute to the economic and social integration of migrant women in the EU society by improving the services of entrepreneurship support oriented to migrant women and creating a specific entrepreneurial path for them.
